Underbrush

Underbrush by Karen Gadient, 2016

Underbrush. Acrylic and pastel combined with digital mixed media.

I really did this one as a bit of art therapy, as I’ve been otherwise working on more graphic-design-y types of projects and wanted a distraction. Also, I have an abundance of overly-vivid colors (read: neon) in acrylic that I need to find some use for―this incorporated a few of those. Have a great week!

Plethora

Plethora. Watercolor, gouache, pencil, and pastel with digital post work.

Created from three scans: one with watercolor and gouache on watercolor paper, another with pastel and pencils on charcoal paper, and a final sheet of gouache strokes on onion skin paper. Art experiment―and also a bit of therapeutic fun!
