Open Shores

Open Shores by Karen Gadient, 2018

Open Shores. Gouache and digital mixed media.

I’ve been struggling with the flu since returning from our holiday travels. It’s better now, but I’m still exhausted most of the time, so I’ll probably be slow to update things online for a bit.

Hope you’ve had a good (and flu-free) start to 2018!

I have seen the sea when it is stormy and wild; when it is quiet and serene; when it is dark and moody. And in all its moods, I see myself.

  1. Really wonderful! I love the colors here. My favorite combination. Get better!

  2. This one speaks to me. I feel like a fish and I want to explore the black holes.

  3. This is just like your quote. Lots of storm, some quiet. Very good. Beautiful colors.

  4. I thought I’d escaped the dreaded lurgy, my brother came home at Christmas full of it, my Dad was poorly, then Mum got it, it seemed like nearly everyone at University came back with a variation of the cold, hot/cold shivers, sore throats, ear ache, blocked noses, now its got a grip of my throat! Hoping I can shake it off quickly and that you finally have too.

  5. Glad you’re feeling better Karen and well enough to create this cool painting!

    Take it easy!

  6. As usual, love the art and love the quote!
