Black and White: The Grotto

The Grotto by Karen Gadient, 2016

The Grotto. The final black and white design for October―although you might see a few in November. This one is a mix of scanned acrylic and digital art.

Black and white, shadow and light. What do you see within this artwork?

I see a person at the close of a waterfall or green shrub over rocks, I see a bird in the sky, and the moon and clouds. It’s wonderous because the more you look the more you see.

  2. I see the grotto. Wonderful!

I see a bat in a moonlight sky, and he makes me sad.
I don’t see much black and white from you, but this is striking.

  4. Sometimes you achieve the impossible, Karen. How can a black and white picture have so much organic shape and suggest colour without any. Love it.

  5. I definitely see a cave with beautiful luminous stalactites hanging from the ceiling. I love it 🙂

  6. I see a secluded waterfall surrounded by trees and foliage.
