Standpoint by Karen Gadient, 2016

Standpoint. Pastel, ink, and watercolor on mixed media board.

My mother used to make paintings like this one and I wanted to try my hand at it, using nearly-primary colors. I like the way it came out!

The aim of argument, or of discussion, should not be victory, but progress.

  1. Very cool, your mum’s a wonderful muse…What an interesting trio of media, inspires me to try that combo.

  2. I like it too! And the quote.

  3. Karen, this is quite possibly one of my favorite works of yours. Excellent!

  4. Ah, I see, a little bit of your mother has ended up in your art! 🙂 It has a feeling of marble, but the colours…very vibrant and warm. I love to see what your designs look like in the products on your Red Bubble shop. They look so different….very cool! 🙂
