TGIF: Watercolor Creature

Watercolor Creature by Karen Gadient, 2015

Belated “FingerPaintingFriday”!

I got so involved with upgrading my operating system yesterday that I forgot to post this. I use a mac, and installed El C(r)apitan when my new version of Office wouldn’t install on Mavericks. I’d skipped Yosemite and really wish now that I’d installed that instead, but hey―what’s done is done. Most things are behaving normally. At least my scanner still scans.

Anyway: fingerprinting! Watercolor mirrored―to create an animal-like face.

Enjoy your weekend, friends. 🙂

  1. Good to hear about upgrade. Need to decide what I want to do. I think I have Maverick.

Looks kinda like a sheep to me. 🐏

    • I wouldn’t upgrade unless you had to (Office 2016 demanded it from me). It’s got a few bugs and I swear everything was faster before. I hope they have new updates soon.

      Yes, I guess it’s a little sheep-y! *baa* 😀

  2. The EYES!!! 😀 It looks sheep like, but might be of alien descent! 😉

  3. I upgraded to El Capitan too and it works okay, the problem I have is with the newest version of Safari. Locks up all the time and is slow….UGH!

    • Haven’t had a problem with Safari–yet. I’ve got some kind of ‘keychain’ problem with the Office suite and waaaaay too many “beach balls” and lag in Photoshop and Illustrator, plus Painter takes a few minutes just to start. Good times, yep!

  4. And here I am trying to decide if I want to download Win 10 into my “if it’s not broke don’t fix it” Win 7 OS. As I told my son, I believe I’ll wait until I need a whole new computer (one with touch screen. Your mirrored creature is fantastic 🙂

    • On my PC, I still have XP (yep, really)… but then, I don’t connect that one to the Internet. 😀 I wouldn’t have upgraded the mac if Office didn’t require it. I totally subscribe to the ‘not broke, so don’t fix it’ frame of mind!

And thanks! Hope you’ve had a nice weekend!

  5. I’m glad your scanner is working. Since the last upgrade, my mac keeps telling my scanner doesn’t exist.

    • Scary! I wouldn’t be able to create much without the scanner, since there isn’t a single artwork I do these days that doesn’t include some traditional medium. I’d rather lose an app or two than the scanner. I hope yours gets recognized soon!

      • The weird thing is if I leave it off for a day or two, my computer recognizes it when I turn it on again. Then the problem comes back after a few days.

        • I had the delightful experience of my mouse not being recognized until I restarted–twice–today. I really hope they have updates soon. I’ve used a mac since OS 8 and have never had so many problems.
