Wild Blue Yonder

Wild Blue Yonder by Karen Gadient, 2015

Started this one on a whim, so the original is pretty small, but that’s what happens when you’re art-experimenting for own amusement. I’ve got an obsession with shades of blue lately! I usually consider orange my favorite color, but it really might be a tie with blue.

Soโ€•what’s your favorite color?

TGIF: Graphite Marshes

Graphite Marshes by Karen Gadient, 2015

Here goes another “FingerPaintingFriday”! This one is a watercolor graphite landscape on 25-year-old watercolor paper (yep, I hoard my art supplies for a long time). Created with only my fingers and nails.

Enjoy your weekend, friends. ๐Ÿ™‚

Acid Berry

Acid Berry. For a print and other items, please click the image.

Yep, those are some sharp colors. Done with acrylic paint on Strathmore acrylic paper (first time using, really like) while listening to Jimi Hendrix.

“If it’s too loud, you’re too old.” โ€• credited most often to Ted Nugent, although I’m sure versions of that quote go back a heckuva long time.

TGIF: Quick Colors

Quick Colors by Karen Gadient, 2015

Time for another “FingerPaintingFriday”! I’ve gotten in the habit of using my fingernails as much as my fingers, messy as it is. This one was painted mainly with gouache, which dried with cracks since I used it without watering it down. I also added some watercolor graphite.

Enjoy your weekend, friends. ๐Ÿ™‚
