Mercurial Prose

Mercurial Prose by Karen Gadient, 2015

Created from scanned watercolor and ink, plus some cardboard for texture, then digital paint and color editing to bring it all together. I’ve been making lots of traditional media ‘layers’ and playing around with them to see what I can build. It’s heaps of fun. I’m also finishing an abstract painting in acrylic and a few odd things in pastel. So―I’m keeping busy!

Happy last day of March. 🙂

Each moment of our life, we either invoke or destroy our dreams.

  1. You’re having lots of fun! Me, too scared to go out into the desert with all of the rattlesnake sightings and photos I have seen! The AZ Highways wildflower workshop skipped going to Bartlett Lake over the weekend due to one of the instructors seeing 2 within an hour while scouting the location! EEK!!!!!!

    • I’m mostly making a mess of my office/studio (although I’ll call that fun). I feel like I need to share some of my small (but colorful) mishaps in order to keep my online presence alive while I take forevvvvver on the bigger projects. Rattlesnakes, whew–no thanks! I like snakes, just not ones that want to bite me. 🙂

      • We need to find a snake-free place to go other than DBG! My night photography downtown certainly need improvement….haha!

        • I’m sure there are snake-free (well, rattlesnake-free) places downtown that also serve wine. 😉 Kidding aside (I think I was sorta kidding, at least)… would love to hang around with you again while you snap some captures!

  2. I love the title, lines and colors!

  3. Wow what a mixture of things you put into this one, absolutely love the colours in this too. Does sound like you are having fun!! 😀
