Decibel

Decibel by Karen Gadient, 2015

Another experiment, adding red this time. Although it’s mostly digital, I’ve been playing with real ink this week, plus I’ve got fresh box of vivid pastels arriving on my doorstep in a few days. Hope you have a fun weekend!

Tones sound, and roar and storm about me until I have set them down in notes.

Mixed media: scanned ink and pastel mixed with digital art. I’ve been playing with monochrome, duotone, and black and white, thanks to the inspiration of my dear local friend Tamara Becker. Be sure to check out her photography blog!

Mixed media: scanned watercolor and digital painting.

I haven’t been blogging as often lately, but I’m still around. I’ve been busy honing some old art skills (both traditional and digital) and finding new ways to use them, plus reading/studying a lot. Life’s also been a little stressful here and there, but hopefully soon improving. Here’s to February being a lovely month!

Also, here in Arizona, we’ve got lots of sun, so… if you’re in a cold part of the world, I’ll be happy to share some sunshine with you. 🙂 Stay warm!

Voices Collide

Voices Collide by Karen Gadient, 2015

In some sense man is a microcosm of the universe; therefore what man is, is a clue to the universe. We are enfolded in the universe. ― David Bohm
