Luminous Sound

Luminous Sound by Karen Gadient, 2014

One more artwork before I scurry off for holiday time! I’m going to take a few days mostly offline and enjoy the season with my loved ones.

No matter what you celebrate or what your plans are: I wish you a wonderful end to 2014 and a successful beginning to 2015. Thanks so much for following my blog and encouraging me to create. Much love, my friends!

This one is clearly a doodle, but man, did I have fun doodling. Oh, it’s the holidays—and my artwork right now reflects the cheerful chaos of crowds and shopping and too much going on. Hope the holidays are treating you well!

Nerve Center

Nerve Center by Karen Gadient, 2014

Created primarily with Pencil by FiftyThree, an early Christmas present from my darling husband, David. I’m really enjoying the Pencil; it’s very comfortable and natural to draw with on the iPad. It’s quickly become my favorite stylus.

Pastel Pirouette

Pastel Pirouette by Karen Gadient, 2014

Set peace of mind as your highest goal, and organize your life around it.
— Brian Tracy

Although I’ve done other pastel work this week, this doodle-like one had the makings of a good mirrored art piece, so I scanned it and played around. Certainly not as bright as my usual stuff, but I like it and had fun!

Violet Verses

Violet Verses by Karen Gadient, 2014

We do not remember days; we remember moments.
— Cesare Pavese

Like many folks this month, I’ll likely be blogging less until 2015 rings in. Holidays and other distractions pull me away from the keyboard. Even with art, I’m not at the computer… I’ve gotten myself a fresh box of pastels and a pile of paper to play with. Gettin’ my hands messy for a while. 🙂 Maybe I’ll share some of the results (the above design wasn’t done in pastel, but in Adobe Illustrator). Hope you’re all having a lovely December so far!
