Portland Japanese Garden

Portland Japanese Garden - Photo by Karen Gadient, 2014

I’m reorganizing our photos and figured I’d share a few here on occasion. This one was taken in the Portland Japanese Garden in late springtime. Things look quite different in autumn and winter, so be sure to check out their site―or visit, if you live close enough! It’s a beautiful and relaxing place to spend an afternoon.

One touch of nature makes the whole world kin. ― William Shakespeare

  1. Beautiful photo and words… And that quote by Shakespeare is stunning.
Best wishes to you, Karen!, Aquileana 😀

  2. I have never been to Portland but my my these look look a visit in every season !!!

  3. I haven’t been to the Japanese garden in ages. Lovely picture 🙂

  4. Quite an arty shot, I like the slight tilt, makes it a bit more intriguing. This is an interesting coincidence because I wrote a poem about two weeks ago called Japanese Garden! Not sure when I’m going to post it, may be a while yet – mine usually are. It was inspired by my memory of a Japanese Garden we used to visit when I was age four. I haven’t seen one since that age, but my memory of it is very vivid. I visited the website, it really does look very different in throughout the year. Very attractive in autumn too. I love the virtual tour – could get quite dizzy with that! 😀

  5. The Japanese Garden in Portland is so cool …
