Purple Cow

Purple Cow by Karen Gadient, 2014

Purple Cow. Slightly inspired by Purple Cow poem, but mostly created because cows are awesome and I love the color purple. Moo.

  1. That is wonderful. I know a poem that would go well with.

  2. So that’s how they get strawberry milk. πŸ™‚

  3. Purple cows don’t make Grape Milk? What? Well, whatever the flavor, I like the purple cow.

  4. Ooh! I learned this poem as a child ?? years ago πŸ™‚

  5. LOVE THIS!! And Purple Cow was one of my favorite poems as a child! I even wrote a “sequel” to that poem for English class – I ought to see if I can dig that up.

    • Thanks! I’ve been considering doing some vegan-ish artwork, so I started with one of my favorite animals. Would love to hear your sequel (but you can email if you don’t want to share here)!

  6. I’d rather see one than be one too – great little poem! πŸ˜€ I used to be absolutely petrified of cows when I was very little. After returning home from a country walk, I wouldn’t go in the living room until either my older brother or my Dad had checked behind the sofa to make sure there wasn’t a cow hiding behind it. Don’t laugh!!! Mm… strange fear, I know! To my utter disgust it used to make everyone laugh – that hurt so much – I was genuinely scared of that possibility, and my family laughed – while they checked the back of the sofa! My Dad used to point out that the sofa was way too small for a cow to get behind and hide – I could see he had a point, and I got over it eventually!

The thought of a purple cow is very alarming, just might have resurfaced that fear of mine! πŸ˜‰ I’m glad you like cows though, they are a bit silly at times, but quite sweet really. And that purple cow looks really very good as a iphone cover. I wouldn’t have thought that would work on something so small, but it really does – very striking! πŸ™‚

    • Oh, I didn’t mean to alarm you, m’dear! *hugs* I had lots of odd fears when I was a kid too. Since I grew up in a very urban area, none of them involved country animals… but the subway rats were pretty scary! πŸ˜‰ Thanks for the compliment on the phone cover–I really wasn’t sure about that one when I uploaded it. πŸ™‚

  7. This one is so original and throbbing, dear Karen.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes to you, Aquileana πŸ™‚

  8. I love cows too and this purple girl is great! πŸ™‚
