Eccentric by Karen Gadient, 2014

Eccentric. Created with Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop.

When we allow ourselves to exist truly and fully, we sting the world with our vision and challenge it with our own ways of being. β€” Thomas Moore

  1. What’s in Corel Painter that isn’t in Adobe Photoshop? I notice you create a lot of your work using both.

I prefer to do my color adjustment in Photoshop. Just habit after years of using both. Plus, I web-optimize/size-adjust in Photoshop.

  2. Eccentric, but attractive – it’s the best kind of eccentric! πŸ˜‰ I like the idea of stinging the world with our vision. Sounds very full on confident, a good way to be! πŸ™‚

I was wondering if you have any novels you’ve written published yet? I know there are a number of people I’m following who have books published of various kinds. I’ve started to display a different book for anyone following me in my sidebar, for six weeks at a time, and also on the post. And the one on the post stays there permanently, unless the author wants it removed. I don’t charge anything, it’s all free, just thought it would make it more interesting for anyone finding my blog in a random Google search. My next post will be Sci Fi related, which is why I thought of you, because I know you’ve mentioned writing Sci Fi before. If you do have a book and you’d like to take up the offer, then let me know! πŸ™‚

      Thank you!

Even though I’ve written several novels, I stopped editing them when my mother passed away and have been painting instead. She was a painter herself and always wanted me to focus more on my artwork. I’ll return to the books eventually. I just have to follow this path for a while. When I do have something published, I’d love to take you up on that offer! Thank you for thinking of me. πŸ™‚

      • Ah yes, I remember you saying that, and I had that too for about a year, best to stick to the art if it’s what your mind needs at the moment. Yes, let me know when you do, that would be great! πŸ™‚ There is a possibility I could do a link for your art at your FineArtAmerica account, or any other place if you’d like me to? I hadn’t really thought about promoting art, as I’m not following any other artists at the moment (I’m a bit slow on ideas sometimes!). I’m following lots of photographers, maybe some of them would like that too – I don’t see why it should be limited to books. The more variety the better! πŸ™‚

Sure… if you ever share artists and photographers, please include my blog or my gallery. Would love that! Oh, also: I have you as ‘Suzy Wordmuser’ on my sidebar. Do you want that or ‘Suzy Hazelwood’? πŸ™‚

      • Yes, I can give you a link to your blog and the gallery as well. I’ve been doing that with the books, underneath, were to buy, and who the author is. So would it be ok to choose one or maybe two different images of your art on your blog to display next time I create a post? They will be a small image, but I’m sure they will look very striking! I can also link the picture to your gallery too, the more links the better! I find this is a good replacement for blog awards – I really don’t like blog awards, they feel a bit pointless, this feels a lot more worthwhile. I may have to just promote blogs in the end, because I shall run out of people with books, and photography eventually!

Oh yes, you can change my name to Suzy Hazelwood, because that’s the name I’ll be using for some time I suspect. I only just changed it on SoundCloud, the settings on there are very easy, but could I find the one that displays my name?! Took me several months to find that button, I’m sure they’ve just changed the settings, I can’t have had my eyes closed for that long! πŸ˜‰

Changed the name for your link! πŸ™‚

Sure, you can use any artwork that is also displayed in the Fine Art America galley (some of the images on the blog only were done for personal reasons and not for sale). Yes, I don’t like blog awards either, which is why I list folks on my sidebar or mention them here and there.

  3. Just been wearing out the ‘Like’ button πŸ˜‰ This one is an especial favourite. Best regards.
