Fractal Mind

Fractal Mind by Karen Gadient, 2014

Another one of those pieces I got lost in while creating. I’ve been getting more and more like Sherlock in his “mind palace”.

Of course, I think that’s a good thing.

There is no quality in this world that is not what it is merely by contrast. Nothing exists in itself. โ€” Herman Melville

  1. This is a nice piece — I’ve always been fascinated by fractals.

  2. Your work is absolutely beautiful!

  3. The fractal mind looks like a wonderful place, very beautiful.

  4. That has a lovely mandala feel to it. Nice work!

  5. I just love the idea of a “mind palace.” And can’t stop giggling when I watch Sherlock in his. Can you imagine what it would be like to come upon someone engaged in searching through theirs? Folks would be locked up.
    Beautiful as usual, Karen!

Thanks! I know I startle easily when lost in thought. I’d imagine it might be pretty dangerous to intrude on someone’s mind palace-ing.

  6. So much detail in this one! ๐Ÿ™‚ I reminds me of some of those Chinese artworks on vases. I feel like there should be a dragon in there somewhere! But the green pieces either side give it an Indian feel, because they remind me of Peacock feathers. That design would look lovely on a plate! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve been obsessed with mirrored artwork lately. It’s a lot like doing jigsaw puzzles, to design something that looks good reflected.
