Stock Photo Vacation Spots

I recently downloaded this stock photo. I really want to know where this place is. The information on the file doesn’t tell me and there’s no contact information for the photographer. Fotalia’s keywords got me searching online with no results.

I suspect the location is Spainβ€”but where?

Because I’d love to have some real estate with that view someday.

Thanks to Andrew Toynbee being so helpful in his usual witty way… I finally know the location is Ronda. It’s in Spain, so I had that right! The reason I missed it on the stock photo file itself was because I read it only as round in Spanish and didn’t realize that was actually the name of the place.

I’ll go there one day. I’m certain of it.

  1. Could be Serrallonga in Spain if you are sure it’s Spain…

I’m not sure. Just going by the information on the file, which says Spain. But thank you for giving me something new to go on!

      • There’s a Spanish mini-series you may find on IMDB called Serrallonga, if you search through the pictures you find something strikingly similar so it could be it.

The mini-series explains the images I found in Google’s search. I really think the location is gorgeous, wherever it is.

I know where it is…I have stood on the very spot where the picture was taken.
    What’s it worth? Mwahahahaha!!!

  3. Might be telling you something you already know, but you can upload images to a Google search from you computer, by selecting Image and upload from you computer, and press search. It doesn’t always find the right image, but most times it is successful, then you have a choice of different places to view that picture, hopefully giving you the information you might be looking for! Glad you found out where it was – you can get your bricks ready to build your home there now!! πŸ˜€

That’s pretty cool… I had no idea you could do that. I’ll have to experiment with it! Yeah, I’ve got a growing list of ‘places to retire’ now. πŸ˜‰

  4. OK, I’m too late to the party. I tried a couple of geek solutions. I dropped the photo into It comes up with all instances of the photo’s appearance. They’re in Italian so I dunno. Then I tried which is a reverse image search.

All that geek power and Andrew found it way ahead of me! Sigh.

  5. Oh–I see SuzyWordMuser got the image search… I need coffee. The day is moving too fast.

You still knew better ways to hunt than I did, and you introduced me to Tineye, which I’d never heard of, so that’s helpful! *hands you a large cup of coffee*

  6. That place looks extraoridnary!

But …*wonders* … how would you play frisbee there?

  7. It looks absolutely beautiful!

  8. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

    Looks so beautiful

  10. If you find out where it is, please let me know. I must go there–beautiful!

  11. Lovely location in the photo – it looks like a fantasy novel location! I love a puzzle, but I was way too late to the party on this one. πŸ˜‰ Just for fun I tried the Google image trick (I’m Suzy’s big brother) and it came up with 6 matches for location and two for image, so well worth trying on mystery images.

I caught the picture of you and Suzy on one of your blog posts. Love of the creative runs in your family, I see!

Suzy was actually the spark for getting my thoughts on awards out into a post. Although I thanked her on her blog, I should have also thanked her again on mine when I finally wrote about it a month or so later. She handled the topic with such class on her blog.

      • I had noticed you had liked my Two Sisters post, so I assumed you noticed the connection to Suzy. I wondered if you had been inspired by her to do the No Awards announcement, as you say she did handle it very well. Please don’t feel any pressure to mention her in your post, I am sure the thanks on her blog is sufficient acknowledgement. πŸ™‚
I only happened on your blog because I kept seeing your gravatar on other blogs I follow, so thought I would take a look – I am glad I did – I’ll stop by again. πŸ™‚

    • karengadient

Great to meet you. πŸ™‚ I’ll be following you too.

  12. This is the kind of place I try to describe in my fantasy novel. So beautiful!!! Words fail me!
